The story of Tiziana and Massimo Aloisio, founders of OROGAMI seems more a fairy tale. All started on the night of May 25th in 1990, when, being perfectly unknown, they sat one next to each other on a plane going from Rome to Milan: a plane that he wouldn’t like to take and she wasn’t supposed to be. It’s the last flight of the day and it will be the first of their life together.
For most of the flight they talk about jewelry design, art, architecture, philosophy and of their decennial experience as designers for important Brands in Italy and France. From that moment they haven’t left each other anymore and they gave birth to a personal and professional sodality that will lead them to found, in the same year, OROGAMI.
The name has been chosen to evoke their blessed encounter and it is a portmanteau of the words "Oro", the Italian word for gold and "gamos", the ancient Greek word meaning wedding. Union in gold. Furthermore OROGAMI red backwards give Imagoro, a Japanese word that means “ about this time” and this is the underlying philosophy that Massimo and TIziana put in their collections. They design contemporary forms that share wearable meaningful messages expressing the value of the emotion.
