This design is the reproduction of a Fresco present in the Nova Chapel in Orvieto, Italy. The Nova Chapel, or Chapel of San Brizio, located in the right transept of the Cathedral of Orvieto, was built between 1408 and 1444. The chapel is famous for its cycle of frescoes depicting the Last Judgment, started by Beato Angelico in 1447 and completed later by Luca Signorelli in 1499-1502. The Resurrection of the Flesh, located in the west wall of the first compartment, contains the fresco of the Trumpeter Angel. This fresco is considered to be the most heroic creation of the artist up to that point, for the grandeur of its size. In the upper left half of the fresco it is possible to discern small sketches of nudes, evidently preliminary ideas for the figures represented in the lower half of the scene.
