This design is the reproduction of a Fresco present in the Albèri Library in Orvieto, Italy. The studio of Archdeacon Antonio Albèri in Orvieto was inspired by the Piccolomini Library of Siena, both adjacent to their respective Duomos. These two academic havens constitute a unique and singular example of libraries attached to a cathedral. The cycle of frescoes, made between 1501 and 1503, are attributed to the workshop of Luca Signorelli. Albèri’s library housed around 300 volumes in its impressive book collection, unfortunately dispersed over the centuries.
