This design is the reproduction of a Mosaics present in the Facade of the Duomo of Orvieto, Italy.The mosaics on the facade of the Duomo depict episodes from the life of the Virgin Mary: her wedding, the presentation at the temple and the Annunciation. The zenith is reached in the scene of the Coronation, placed high in the central tympanum. This mosaic was completed in 1843, based on a drawing from 1300, and depicts the Virgin Mary and Christ sitting on a throne covered by a red cloth. The mosaic of the White Damascus Mantle is the long cloth, decorated with yellow floral motifs, that surrounds the Virgin.
